Montenegro's property market has come a long way in two decades — more transparent, more international, and more sophisticated than ever. But like any fast-growing market, its professional standards and regulation are still catching up with its scale. Closing that gap — between a maturing market and the standards a mature market deserves — is exactly where Nataša Grdinić, Co-Founder and CEO of CMM Investment Consulting Group, has chosen to do her most important work.

In July 2025, in a decision that says a great deal about her standing among peers, Montenegro's real estate professionals elected Nataša Grdinić President of the Group for Real Estate Trade at the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro. The group brings together twenty-seven of the sector's most significant companies — competitors as much as collaborators — and they chose her to represent them.
It is not a ceremonial title. The group's agenda reads like a blueprint for a more credible market: supporting the correct application of the Law on Brokerage in the Sale and Lease of Real Estate, helping to build and run the professional certification exam for real estate agents, developing the Montenegrin property market, organising agent training, and — perhaps most tellingly — taking an active role in the fight against the grey economy in the sector.
For an international investor, that last point matters more than any brochure. A market where agents are certified, brokerage is regulated, and unofficial dealings are pushed out is a market where a foreign buyer's money is safer. Nataša Grdinić is helping build precisely that market — and she is doing it in a leadership seat, on the record, for the whole industry rather than for CMM alone.
Her influence reaches beyond property. Since 2023, Nataša Grdinić has served on the Advisory Board of the Montenegro SDG Acceleration Fund, a body convened under the United Nations to guide sustainable development in the country. The board is made up of independent experts — figures from the World Bank, KfW, academia, and civil society — and it advises on decisions that shape how Montenegro grows over the coming years.
Sitting alongside that company is a quiet form of validation that no marketing campaign can manufacture. It places her among the people thinking not just about the next sale, but about what kind of country Montenegro becomes — how its coastline develops, how responsibly, and for whose benefit.

None of this came from a standing start. Nataša Grdinić began her career in international project development in 2005 and co-founded CMM in 2006, going on to serve as executive director for Montenegro and establishing herself as one of the youngest businesswomen in the world of real estate.
Her work has been recognised well beyond Montenegro's borders. She holds the International Property Award, presented in London, is a "40 under 40" honouree, and a member of the Business Elite's Club. That recognition extends to the company she leads: under her direction, CMM has been named Montenegro's leading real estate company at the Top Business Montenegro awards three years running — in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
In 2024, that reputation drew the attention of one of the most respected names in global property. CMM became the Montenegrin member of the Chestertons Global Network, aligning a legendary British brand with deep local knowledge — the kind of partnership that gives international buyers a familiar reference point in an unfamiliar market.
The single biggest question an overseas investor faces in Montenegro is not location or price — it is trust. Who is actually accountable once the paperwork is signed?
Nataša Grdinić's answer is her track record. A leader who is elected by her competitors to raise standards, invited by the UN to advise on the country's development, and recognised internationally for her work is, by definition, someone with a great deal to protect and every reason to protect it. That is the reputation standing behind CMM's full-cycle model — where the same team that develops a property also handles the legal process, residency support, furnishing, and rental management long after the keys change hands.
Markets mature when someone decides to lead them there. In Montenegro, that work increasingly has one name attached to it — and it is a name worth knowing before you invest.
